About
Between Piazza di Spagna and the Trevi Fountain, in the most photographed heart of Rome, Sant’Andrea has carried forward the gastronomic heritage of the capital for more than a century. The Contini family, now in its third generation, has run it since the 1940s — though the restaurant already appeared in guidebooks in the 1920s. During the war it welcomed those seeking a humble meal. In the 1950s it became a true meeting place. A story made of people, even more than of dishes. The menu features the great classics of Roman tradition: carbonara with truffle, cacio e pepe, amatriciana, gnocchi, saltimbocca. Every day, fresh homemade pasta. Ingredients chosen with care: 36-month Parmigiano Reggiano from Red Cows, cold-pressed Olio di Roma IGP.
