Maniva

Maniva is a Lombardy-based mineral water company founded in 1998 at the foot of Monte Maniva in the Brescia Alps, at an elevation of 1,864 metres above sea level. The mountain’s distinctive hydrogeological structure — characterised by an extensive network of micro and macro-fissures within its southern slopes — creates the conditions for three natural springs that produce water of notable purity, lightness and alkalinity. With a pH of 8, Maniva water stands apart from the majority of Italian mineral waters. The surrounding landscape is that of a narrow Alpine valley framing the medieval village of Bagolino, lending the source both geological and historical depth. Since 2003, the Maniva Group has also owned Verna mineral water, which rises within the protected natural oasis of the Casentinesi Forests in the province of Arezzo, a source reportedly prized for its therapeutic qualities as far back as 1666.

Maniva has developed a carefully considered range of products for the hospitality, restaurant and bar sectors. Its returnable glass bottle lines — available in 0.75-litre and one-litre formats — include several mid-to-premium offerings: Maniva Chef, AQ Verna, Acqua Classica and AQ Balda. A more recent addition is Vintage Maniva, a distinctively conical glass bottle with ribbed sides and embossed detailing, available in still, sparkling and lightly sparkling versions in both 0.5-litre and one-litre formats, designed specifically for the hospitality market.

Innovation and environmental responsibility run throughout the company’s operations. The Smile-Box Maniva, an ergonomic and resealable brick format made from predominantly plant-based, fully recyclable materials, reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable packaging. The Mineral Seltz Maniva line addresses the specific needs of bartenders, maintaining consistent carbonation through to the final pour. Across its production facilities, Maniva invests in 100% recyclable packaging and energy-efficient processes. The company, which employs more than seventy people, has also recently received the UNI/PDR 125:2022 certification for gender equality, formalising longstanding internal policies promoting equal opportunity and workplace inclusion.
